Our team of highly qualified fire door inspectors brings extensive industry experience to every project, whether it’s a single property or a commercial facility.
As proud members of the National Association of Fire Door Inspectors (NAFDI), all our inspections are recorded within the NAFDI database, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Following a comprehensive assessment, Sawco Fire provides detailed reports certifying the compliance of new or existing fire doors. If adjustments, maintenance or upgrades are required, our reports outline precise recommendations to align with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Our fire door inspection services are designed to provide comprehensive, detailed, and competitively priced assessments tailored to your specific needs. Whether verifying compliance or identifying necessary upgrades, we ensure you receive clear, actionable insights to support fire safety in your building.
What Is A Fire Door Inspection?
Our fire door inspectors conduct comprehensive, non-destructive fire door surveys and deliver detailed reports on the condition of the entire doorset.
Regular inspections are essential for identifying damage, improper installation, or wear that may compromise fire resistance. Our certified inspectors meticulously examine gaps, seals, hinges, and door closers to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. Fire doors must adhere to British Standards (BS 9999) and Approved Document B to guarantee effective smoke and fire containment. Routine maintenance and testing are vital for compliance with fire safety laws and passive fire protection.
Legal Requirements
As of the 23rd of January 2023, The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 has made it a legal requirement for responsible persons of multi-occupied residential buildings in England, with storeys over 11 meters in height to:
Undertake quarterly checks of all fire doors (including self-closing devices) in common parts of the building.
Carry out annual inspections of all flat entrance doors that lead into a building’s common parts.
What is ‘Compliant’
Ensuring your fire doors are compliant isn’t just about ticking a box, it’s about protecting lives, property, and your legal standing.
Non-compliance can be costly. Even a minor breach of fire safety regulations can result in fines of up to £5,000.
Serious consequences are real. In the wake of the Grenfell tragedy, enforcement has become much stricter. Landlords have faced fines exceeding £50,000, and in some cases, suspended prison sentences for failing to meet fire safety standards.
At Sawco Fire, we make it easy to stay on the right side of the law and protect what matters most.
